Taking a Wee Break!

Happy summer to all my blog readers!  I'm taking a little time off so my blog will be quiet for the next few weeks.  I'm on a little 25th wedding anniversary road trip with my amazing husband!  I will eave you with a fun card that I made after watching this video from Nichol Magouirk a few dozen times.  That woman is amazing!  Check out my Pinterest Watercolour board here for more inspiration.

Supplies:  Watercolour Paper [Strathmore], Design Paper [Studio Calico], Stamps [WPlus9, American Crafts], Ink [Distress Inks by Ranger].

I clearly have a long way to go but I just want to say that I had SO.MUCH.FUN making this card!  Watercolour is just good for the soul!

I made it "sentiment free" on purpose.  I thought I could use this card as a sympathy, birthday, thanks or "just about anything" card.

Stay well and happy.  I hope you have lots of sunshine and good times ahead.  See you in a few weeks!

CASology Week #101 - Wood

I hope you enjoyed the celebration over at the CASology blog with our 100th post!  I know I did!

Wood...so many possibilities.  At this time of the year you might be thinking of the forest, or a campfire.  I thought also a house would fit this cue card.  Many houses are built with wood where I live.  However, I really wanted to use these super fun stamps and dies called Let's Roll from Lawn Fawn.

Here is my card:

Supplies:  Stamps and dies all from Lawn Fawn.

I can never have too many thank you cards in my stash.  Even though classes are done, I like to build up my stash for the fall.

We are sponsored by Add a Little Dazzle this week.  They specialize in crafting with craft metal sheets.  Check out the DT samples....stunning!

Winner, Winner Chicken Dinner!

Happy Sunday [or Monday depending on where you are in the world]!

I have a winner for my CASology 100th Challenge blog candy!

I put all the names into a hat and drew a winner:

Gail [she goes by both Gail and Iona according to her blog], I've emailed you!

It was so reassuring to hear that I'm not alone in purchasing duplicate items.  I feel so much better after reading all of your confessions!

Life really is good with such nice people like you visiting my blog...thank you!

It's a CASology Milestone!

CASology is celebrating it's 100th cue card.  Can you believe it?  While I haven't been on the design team for all 100 I've been there for more than half!

I'm sharing a new card that I made just because I love making cards:

Supplies:  Dies and Stamps, Lawn Fawn, Balloon Studio file

In case you didn't know, I also love Lawn Fawn stamps and dies!

Each of the design team members is giving away some blog candy to sweeten the celebration.  I'm giving away a set of tag dies from Taylored Expressions:

Tag Stacklets 1

They have never been opened or used [because I will admit right now that I somehow managed to order a duplicate set] and in the original packaging!  Raise your hand right now if you have ordered a duplicate of something you already own!  Haha...I see lots of raised hands!

Can I just say that my design teammates and our fearless leader Melissa are just the best people on this earth to work with!!  I hope you can tell how much fun we are having each and every week.

Leave a comment on this post by Sunday June 22 at 10:00 am CDT telling me why your life is good and I will draw a winner from all the posts.  One entry per person, please.  The blog candy draw is open to everyone, everywhere!  Good luck!  And truly, life is good, right?

CASology Week #100 - Celebrate!

We are celebrating this week at CASology...this post is the 100th!  Now that's something to celebrate!

There are few different directions to take this one.  I thought about celebrating the best day ever!

Supplies:  Card stock [Neenah], Stamps [Lawn Fawn], Die [Lawn Fawn

I'm thinking I could have gone the birthday route, or done a card with confetti and/or cake.  A congratulations card works for celebrate as well!  You know, celebrating a big day or a new job.  This cue card is w-i-d-e open and it is going to be so fun to see creative which direction you all take it!

We are sponsored this week by Endless Creations.  They have some of the sweetest small stamps I've seen.  They have several years worth of releases, so you should check them out!

A2 Box Birthday Card

Have you seen the latest craze [well at least in my world it is a craze]?  A2 box cards.  I made one for my husband for his recent birthday:

Supplies:  A2 Box card file by Lori Whitlock, Cardstock [Recollections], Patterned Paper [Recollections and some bits from my scrap bin], Dies[ Lawn Fawn, Papertrey Ink, Lil' Inkers, Simon Says Stamp]

He loves to fish so I tried to make it sea-themed.  It folds flat and fits into an A2 envelope.  These are just so much fun to make. If you want to see more, you can check out my Pinterest Board here.  The balloons and the seagulls are suspended using clear acetate.  I trimmed a strip and adhered one end to the seagull/balloons and the other to the strut in the center of the box.

By the way, he loved it!

CASology Week #99 Anniversary

This week's cue card at CASology is very timely....it is my 25th wedding anniversary today!  I married my best friend 25 years ago today.  I won't say it's been all sunshine and perfection.  We've had a few disagreements and there were times when we weren't even in the same galaxy on a issue but as we said the day before our ceremony, "No matter what happens, we WILL work it out."  And we have!

Okay enough of the mushy stuff...here is my card for my amazing husband:

Supplies:  Card stock [Recollections], Stamps and Dies [Papertrey Ink] It's pretty hard to get a good picture of anything with a shine or gloss...sigh.

We are sponsored this week by STAMPlorations.  They have some gorgeous script stamps...check out their blog here.
