Gingerbread Tags

My daughter is getting together with some of her friends to make gingerbread cookies tonight.  She has been close friends with these girls since they were all in kindergarten together [18 years ago] so I know them all really well!

I thought it would be fun to make a little kit for them to create gingerbread tags to go with their creations.  I had recently watched this video from Nicol Magouirk and thought her little gift bag would make the perfect place to store the bits and pieces.

Supplies:  Card Stock [Recollections], Stamps [Papertrey Ink, My Favorite Things], Dies [Lawn Fawn, Papertrey Ink]

Here is a snap shot of the contents:

And the finished tags I created as a sample so they would know how to put them together:

It took me about an hour to put the kits together and I still want to add one more tweak to the kits as an afterthought.  I enjoyed doing them and I know those girls will love them.

I used a cut file from the Silhouette Store [#5106].  I love that it came with a girl and boy cookie!

CASology Week #126 - Snow

It's time for another CASology cue card:

And here is my card:

Supplies:  Cardstock [Neenah], Stamps:  [Lawn Fawn], Dies [Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant], Other [Embossing Folder, Hero Arts].

Hands up if you have a pile of un-loved 6x6 patterned paper pads in your craft space.  I do!  Being a predominantly clean and simple card maker, patterned paper doesn't often make an appearance in my projects.  But I do love it, hoard it and purchase it.  So I need to use it up!  I think even though I covered the entire card front with patterned paper, I made it more clean and simple by using that paper as a mat for my white card stock piece.

Remember that you have until Monday at noon [CST] to submit your card!

CASology Week #125 ~ Silver

It's time for another CASology cue card:

And here is my card:

Supplies:  Cardstock [Neenah], Patterned Paper [Lawn Fawn], Stamps [Papertrey Ink], Dies [Papertrey Ink], Sequins [Dollar Store.

I love a good shaker card.  This one will have to be hand delivered as it is pretty bulky/expensive to mail. In case you can't see it, I added some silver sequins to the shaker part.

CASology Week #124 :: Old

It's time for another CASology cue card:

I created a tag because I need a few more tags for my gifts:

Supplies:  Card stock [Recollections 110lb black...love it], Stamps [Lawn Fawn], Stencil [Heidi Swapp].

I had so many ideas for this week's cue card that it was hard to narrow them down.  I thought of going back to my first blog posts and re-working a card/card design; I thought of using some of my oldest stamps; I thought of a birthday card for an older person....  Anyway, I decided to go with some embossed stars because stars are old, right?  I'm currently enjoying using embossing paste with stencils!

Our sponsor this week is Melon Door Lighthouse.  Lots of fun digital stamps to choose from at Melon Door Lighthouse!

Remember that you have until Monday at noon [CST] to submit your card!

Friends warm the coldest of days...

Just thought I'd share a card I made with the one of the My Favorite Things November release products.  Torico's seriously sweet little girl from the Warm Wishes stamp and die is just so addicting.  I just cannot stop playing with this stamp.

Supplies:  Cardstock [Recollections, Neenah], Stamps [My Favorite Things], Dies [My Favorite Things, Lawn Fawn], Stencil [Simon Says Stamp], Embossing Paste [Dreamweaver].

This is my first try at a monochromatic colour scheme and I know I need to keep working and improving but I did really love this card.  I used this card as my "wish this was my final product" model.

I've also been messing with my camera lenses and f-stops to get the blurry background like Debby Hughes.  My brain is bulging with new techniques!

I'll be giving this card to a really old and dear friend who recently lost her mom.

Happy Friday to you!  I hope all of my American friends had a Thanksgiving full of family and good food.

Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

I loved Nichole's inspiration pictures for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

Supplies:  Card Stock [Recollections 110 lb], Design Paper [Lawn Fawn], Dies [Papertrey Ink], Button [Papertrey Ink], Twine [American Crafts]

I die cut two Damask Snowflakes for my card base.  I scored one about an inch from the top and adhered it to another.  A folded paper rosette made with some Lawn Fawn Peace Love Joy 12 x 12 paper was adhered on top.  At this point I was a teeny bit worried if it would stand up or just fall over.  Lo and behold, it stood up!  So I die cut the smallest Fancy Flake die and left the bits intact.  An Aqua Mist button, a Tiny Tag stamped with a sentiment from Tiny Treats Christmas followed.  It might look dainty but it is actually very sturdy!  The props are just there to add some colour to the photo.

Can't wait to see what everyone else is creating for the Blog Hop!

Edited to add a link to a second snowflake shaped card here.
