Hey everyone! Just popping by with my daughter's birthday mini album. Each year for the last 5 or so years I have created a mini album for my daughter [and a few for my son] to hold their birthday money or gift cards. As they grew up, I found I knew less and less what they wanted and ended up giving them gift cards or money. This way they could buy what they wanted. However, wrapping up a gift card[s] does not make for a fun present[s]. So I came up with the idea of mini albums.
You can see last year's birthday mini and the year before that here and here. I created separate posts for each page those years!
So, here it is:
I got the idea from this post here.
I Googled what occurred in history on her birthday through the years and created tags with the events. I was surprised how many amazing things happened on her birthday! Of course the last tag had the event that enriched our lives....her birthday!
I used an older paper pad that I needed to use from Echo Park [Happy Days] that I had not even touched. I also had the 12 x 12 sticker sheet that really helped embellish the tags. I liked the colour palette and had the complete paper pad to use! I got the jar at a second hand store for $1.99! It is currently sitting on her bedside table so I'm guessing she likes it.
I'm sorry I don't have photos of the tags inside the jar but I just didn't have the time. We had a busy summer and I barely got this done in time for her birthday. In fact, I told her she wouldn't be getting a mini album this year at all. Eek!
Do you have older paper pads that you need to use up? I'd love the hear some of your ideas!
